This course provides trainees with the fundamental theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to safely perform duties as a rating forming part of an engineering watch in a manned or periodically unmanned engine room. Emphasis is placed on supporting the engineer officer of the watch and contributing to the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operation of shipboard machinery.
