The course is intended to ensure that trainees are competent to operate and manage engine-room systems using simulator-based training, including watchkeeping procedures, machinery operation and monitoring, fault detection and response, emergency handling, teamwork and communication, and the application of safe engineering practices, in both normal and abnormal operating conditions.
