IMO informs about the new contact points responsible for the receipt, transmission and processing of urgent reports on incidents involving harmful substances, including oil from ships to coastal States. The list is updated on a quarterly basis and includes a summary indicating which country has submitted changes to its information, since the previous update.

For ship inspection purposes, the official version of the List of national operational contact points responsible for the receipt, transmission and processing of urgent reports on incidents involving harmful substances including oil from ships to coastal States –annex is the updated version, which is issued annually as an MEPC-MSC.6/Circular on 31 January of each year. Quarterly updates are subsequently issued on 30 April, 31 July and 31 October of each year.
This information is provided to enable compliance with regulation 31 of MARPOL Annex I and regulation 17 of MARPOL Annex II.
