The Belize Maritime Administration, through MMN-26-004, has provided guidance in connection with the 2026 Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) on Cargo Securing.

With the Paris and Tokyo MoUs’ Joint CIC on Cargo Securing running from 1 September to 30 November 2026, shipowners, operators, and master’s should ensure that cargo securing arrangements, equipment and onboard procedures are fully implemented and maintained in accordance with the applicable SOLAS requirements and Cargo Securing Manual.

Attention should be given to the condition and maintenance of securing equipment, proper stowage and securing of cargo, crew familiarity with procedures, and the availability and effective implementation of the approved Cargo Securing Manual.

PMDS Notice No. 15/26 provides a practical reference to the applicable Belize requirements and the areas that may receive increased attention during PSC inspections.
