The Annual Safety Inspections Program applies to vessels engaged in international commerce and other commercial activities. Its purpose is to determine whether each ship complies with the National and International regulations relevant to its type, operation, and trade.
This program serves as a key preventive measure to ensure that vessels maintain the required safety conditions, proper documentation, and operational readiness throughout their service period.
Annual Safety Inspections are conducted by specialized Inspectors employed by the Maritime Administration or authorized Inspector through Companies representing Flag Inspectors. IMI is also authorized by Liberia to conduct ISM/ISPS/MLC audits and IHM Inspections.
