Course Overview

The course is intended to ensure that trainees are competent to perform the duties of an Able Seafarer Deck, including maintaining a safe navigational watch, carrying out seamanship tasks, handling cargo and deck equipment, complying with safety and environmental protection procedures, and responding effectively to emergencies

Target Audience
Experienced Deck ratings seeking certification as Able Seafarer Deck
Prerequisites
Approved period of seagoing service of 12 months or above as “Rating Forming part of a navigational watch (Regulation II/4)” on ships of 500 gross tonnage or more, stated on the seaman´s book duly stamped and or on the company letters duly letterhead detailing ship’s particulars (IMO NUMBER, CALL SIGN, TYPE OF VESSEL, GROSS TONNAGE, PROPULSION POWER).
Required Documentation
1. Valid Passport 2. Valid medical certificate. 3. Valid Basic Safety Training Certificates. 4. Held a “COP Rating Forming part of a navigational watch (Regulation II/4)” issued by Panamá Maritime Authority or a “COP Rating Forming part of a navigational watch (Regulation II/4)” issued by any Maritime administration included on the IMO white list which don’t have any restriction by Panamá Maritime Authority. 5. Approved period of seagoing service of 12 months or above as “Rating Forming part of a navigational watch (Regulation II/4)” on ships of 500 gross tonnage or more, stated on the seaman´s book duly stamped and or on the company letters duly letterhead detailing ship’s particulars (IMO NUMBER, CALL SIGN, TYPE OF VESSEL, GROSS TONNAGE, PROPULSION POWER).
