Course Overview

The course is intended to ensure that trainees are competent to manage shipboard fire emergencies, lead fire-fighting teams, apply advanced fire-fighting techniques, and make effective decisions under emergency conditions. Emphasis is placed on fire prevention, fire dynamics, use of fixed and portable fire-fighting systems, command and control, crew coordination, and the protection of life, ship, cargo, and the environment.

• Deck, Engine officers and Seafarers designated to control or assist in fire-fighting operations on board and responsible for leading fire teams or managing fire emergencies

Required Documentation
1. Valid Passport 2. Valid medical certificate. 3. Valid Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting training certificate in accordance with Regulation VI/1, Section A-VI/1 and Table A-VI/1-2 the Convention and Code STCW 1978 as amended.
