Course Overview

The course is intended to ensure that trainees are competent to perform the duties of a Ship’s Cook, including the planning and preparation of nutritious meals, safe food handling and hygiene practices, management of galley operations, accommodation of special dietary requirements, and compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards on board ship

Requirements

Target Audience
• Seafarers seeking certification or qualification as Ship’s Cook • Personnel employed or intending to be employed as cooks on board ships • Catering staff responsible for food preparation, hygiene, and nutrition on board • Crew members assigned galley and food-handling duties
Prerequisites
• Evedicence of experience as Cook (experience letters on board or ashore, training certificates or diplomas as Cook or Chef studies).
