The course is intended to ensure that trainees are competent to apply leadership and managerial skills at the management level, including effective communication, decision-making, resource and workload management, motivation and development of personnel, and the management of bridge and engine-room teams, in order to promote safe and efficient shipboard operations in both normal and emergency situations.
