The course is intended to ensure that trainees are competent to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO), including the development, implementation, maintenance, and supervision of the Port Facility Security Plan, conducting security assessments, managing security threats and incidents, coordinating with relevant authorities and stakeholders, and ensuring effective security measures in both normal and heightened security situations, in accordance with Chapter XI-2 of the SOLAS Convention and the ISPS Code.
