Course Overview

The course is intended to ensure that trainees are competent to plan, manage and supervise liquefied tanker cargo operations, including the handling and transfer of liquefied gases, operation of cargo and containment systems, cargo monitoring, safety and pollution prevention measures, emergency response, and compliance with applicable international regulations

Requirements

Target Audience
• Deck officers • Engineering officers • Ratings and Seafarers with immediate with immediate responsibility for cargo handling, cargo transfer, and cargo-related safety operations on liquefied gas tankers
Prerequisites
• Have completed at least 3 months of approved seagoing service on a gas tanker vessel within the period of validity of his Basic Training for Liquefied Tanker Cargo training. This experience must be registered on the seaman´s book duly stamped and on the company letters duly letterhead detailing ship’s particulars (IMO NUMBER, CALL SIGN, TYPE OF VESSEL, GROSS TONNAGE, PROPULSION POWER).
Required Documentation
1. Valid Passport 2. Valid medical certificate. 3. Approved Basic Training for Liquefied Tanker Cargo Operations issued in accordance with the STCW 78, as amended.
