Course Overview

The course is intended to ensure that trainees are competent to plan, manage and supervise chemical tanker cargo operations, including the handling and transfer of chemical cargoes, operation of cargo systems, cargo compatibility and segregation, pollution prevention, emergency response, and compliance with safety, health and environmental protection requirements

Requirements

Target Audience
• Deck officers • Engineering officers • Ratings and Seafarers with immediate with immediate responsibility for cargo handling, cargo transfer, and cargo-related safety operations on chemical tankers
Prerequisites
• Have completed at least 3 months of approved seagoing service on an chemical tanker vessel within the period of validity of his basic oil and chemical tanker training. This experience must be registered on the seaman´s book duly stamped and on the company letters duly letterhead detailing ship’s particulars (IMO NUMBER, CALL SIGN, TYPE OF VESSEL, GROSS TONNAGE, PROPULSION POWER).
Required Documentation
1. Valid Passport 2. Valid medical certificate. 3. Approved Basic Training for Oil and Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations issued in accordance with the STCW 78, as amended. 4. Have completed at least 3 months of approved seagoing service on an chemical tanker vessel within the period of validity of his basic oil and chemical tanker training.
